About
Why this course exists
The music industry runs on specialist money knowledge that almost nobody teaches. This course was built to change that.
Giving the knowledge back
Accountants arrive from audit and meet recoupment for the first time. Managers learn neighbouring rights by missing them. Analysts price catalogues built on income streams they have never traced end to end. The knowledge exists, but it lives in scattered PDFs, expensive conferences and other people’s heads.
Learn the Music Industry puts it in one place: how the money actually moves, taught through worked examples, live simulators and questions that check you can apply it. It covers the UK and the US side by side, because real careers and real catalogues cross the Atlantic.
It exists to give back to the industry, and to help people make the moves the industry makes hard: transitioning in from an adjacent profession, and moving through it as roles change. An auditor becoming a business manager, a label coordinator moving into royalties, a lawyer picking up catalogue work. Each of those transitions runs on the same underlying knowledge, and none of them should depend on being lucky with mentors.

How it’s kept honest
Every figure lives in a dated, sourced facts table, and anything unverified is labelled as illustrative on the page. Every simulator runs on a separately tested formula. When a rate moves, the fact moves with it. The full approach is on the FAQ, and if you spot something wrong, tell usand we’ll fix it at source.
